YouTube Channel: Future Programmer

Background

I first began learning programming in the fall of 2019 when I was in 8th grade. In the time since, I have used a variety of platforms to deepen my understanding of programming concepts. One site I have returned to on many occasions is YouTube. Because of its nature as a place where anyone can share their unique ideas and expertise, YouTube has been particularly useful as I navigate a wide range of topics in computer science and technology.

As I became more and more familiar with programming, I thought to myself: why not start my own YouTube channel to share what I know and love with the world? In November of 2020, I created a YouTube channel. A month later, I published my first video.

The name of the channel, Future Programmer, has often been misinterpreted. The phrase is not meant to describe someone who aspires to become a programmer in the future. Rather, it describes someone who intends to use programming as a powerful tool to shape the future of the world they live in. That is the goal I both set for myself as a programmer and instill in my audience as a programming educator.

In the years since my channel was launched, I have created videos on a vast assortment of technology topics I am familiar with and interested in. A list of all videos is available in the Courses and Lessons section below.

Channel Milestones

The Future Programmer YouTube channel has grown steadily over time. Today, it has over 100 videos and nearly 1,000 subscribers. Among the various types of engagement my videos receive, the one that I love seeing the most is not subscribers, likes, or views.
